The Leather Belt
One belt, made well, is worth a drawer of lesser ones. Ours is cut from a single uninterrupted length of full-grain English bridle leather — never bonded or layered from scraps — and finished with a solid, hand-antiqued brass buckle that wears in handsomely rather than wearing out.
The leather is vegetable-tanned over weeks in the traditional manner and edge-painted by hand in several patient coats, with a width judged to sit correctly through the loops of tailored and casual trousers alike. No outsized logo, no contrast stitch in a clashing thread — only the quiet quality of good materials properly joined, and a discreet keeper to hold the tail.
It will darken, burnish and soften with the years, taking on the particular character of the man who wears it daily. Buy it once, care for it simply, and keep it for good — the most honest kind of luxury there is.
