The Chino
The chino, done properly. Cut from a peached cotton twill with the faintest touch of recovery, it holds a clean line through the leg while moving easily with you across a long day. The colour is achieved through a slow garment dye that lends faint, characterful depth and a softened hand, rather than the flat, papery finish of cheaper trousers.
We kept the hardware quiet — a single tonal shank closure, a hidden extended tab, slant front pockets and button-through welt pockets at the back — and tailored the seat and thigh for a trim but genuinely comfortable fit that never pulls when seated. It is the trouser that bridges the weekend and the working week without missing a step.
Wear it with the oxford shirt and suede loafers in the warmer months, or a merino knit and Chelsea boots when the weather turns. Endlessly useful, quietly handsome and never, ever loud.
